On Wednesday, December 3 at 5:00 pm, join Independent Cosmetics Manufacturers and Distributors (ICMAD) for the next installment of its webinar series, “A Practical Guide to Selling Cosmetics Internationally,” which will highlight Australia. The webinar will introduce companies to the overseas market in Australia, and will include guest speakers John Kanawati, commercial specialist at the U.S. Commercial Services in Sydney, and Robert Forbes, managing director of Robert Forbes and Associates. According to ICMAD, as a result of the Free Trade Agreement between the U.S. and Australia, which went into effect in January of 2005, import duties on cosmetics and toiletries have been eliminated. The two-way trade between the two countries was valued at $26.7 billion in 2009, up 23% from 2004. U.S. goods exports were valued at $18.9 billion in 2009, up 33% from 2004. Though import competition is high, the market has shown growth of approximately 5% annually from 2011-2013.
